Tuesday morning, I received an email stating that I was able to come out to NYFW 2015 for Style Fashion Week and Walk Fashion Show as media. My initial reaction was just utter excitement. I never thought that this was something I was ever going to be able to do; especially since I just got started with blogging, writing and all this good stuff. So what was I supposed to do? Start looking for flights, start looking at hotels. But was this something I was going to be able to afford to do? I had literally one week to make this decision, going back and forth speaking with everyone about it. Do I? Or do I not go? I knew I was going to regret this opportunity if I did not go. Literally 2 days before I left, I decided I NEED TO GO. So many things to do, so little time. Most importantly, what am I going to wear?! Then the scrambling begins. Shoes and clothes all over the place.
With having only 2 days to book a car, a hotel, pack for fashion week and get myself ready, talk about anxiety! Anyone that knows me, knows how much this was stressing me out. What I was looking forward to the most seeing everything NYFW had to offer, in and out of the shows. On the streets and the diversity that NYC has. On the way to NY we go. Have you ever driven from MI to NY? Well let's say there was a lot of this on the way...
After a long and grueling 10 hour drive, we have reached New Jersey where we decided to stay. FYI-if you want to be close to NYC and stay at an awesome hotel for a cheaper price, I recommend Meadowland View Hotel. They have great rooms and a shuttle that takes you back and forth to NYC for a really good price. We had no trouble our whole stay there. Upon our arrival, we literally had 45 minutes to get ready and catch the shuttle heading into NYC to my first show at Style Fashion week at Gotham Hall.
I had arrived. Stay tuned for the next post for my first experience at my first fashion show during NYFW!
With love & road to NYFW,
