Have you ever heard your girlfriend or wife say to you "can you just dress up" or "can you wear something other than a t-shirt and jeans?" Your limited wardrobe, you lack sense of "style", you don't have time or just simply think trying to look stylish all the time takes too much work. Well men, it doesn't have to be. It is all about stepping out of your comfort zone. If you have an event to attend, or important meeting or something social, put away that plain t-shirt and jeans. It could take some outside help if you have no idea where to start. Simple things like throwing on a scarf with that plain shirt looks tens time better already.
So let's say you have a last minute social gathering and you want to dress up but have nothing to wear and don't have time to go out and find something. Let's start off with some random stuff you have in the closet. A blazer, bow tie and white button up shirt you wear to work. Those items alone can be put together to make a killer outfit.
People take notice when they see a guy that dress well. Dressing well also doesn't mean you are spending loads of money. This goes back to finding someone to help dress you or to teach you the basics. With my own personal experience, when my first started dating my fiancé he wore a lot of t-shirts and jeans and did not really care about fashion. He always thought that looking stylish would cost him a lot. With my help, that changed. Teaching someone that they can look like a million bucks without having to spend tons.
You don't need to relinquish that manly stature to look fashionable. Experiment and have fun.

Over this past weekend, I learned how to make yummy vegetarian eggrolls! They are better than they sound :)
This recipe is for approximately 50-60 eggrolls. The portions of veggies are all to your liking (you can add more or less of what you want).
2 sweet potatoes
7 packs of vermicelli noodles (bean thread)
2 packs of spring rolls wrappers (grab additional pack if you have extra filling)
2 tsp. tapioca starch
1/2 cup water
2 1/2 tsp. salt
5 tsp. sugar
Wash cabbage, carrots, sweet potatoes.
Large bowls, tongs or chopsticks, cutting board, shredder/mincer, corn or vegetable oil, 3 quart pot or larger, strainer, scissors or knife to cut the noodles.
1. Using a shredder/mincer- shred cabbage, carrots and sweet potatoes and set aside in a big bowl.
2. Prepare vermicelli noodles by immersing into boiling/hot water for a few minutes; or until soften. Drain noodles & put into bowl. Make sure to press water out of noodles; or everything will be soggy. Use scissors to cut into pieces (cut while in bowl). Set aside.
3. Unwrap spring roll wrappers and peel piece by piece and set aside. This is done for convenience when you are ready to wrap the eggrolls.
4. Combine, cabbage, carrots, sweet potatoes, vermicelli noodles, sugar & salt into big bowl and mix together with hand. Make sure it's dispersed evenly. Set this aside.
5. Prepare the eggroll "sealer". Heat tapioca starch and water until mixture is clear. This will only be about a minute or so. An egg can also be used as a sealer.
6. Place 1 wrapper on a cutting board or large flat plate (corner of wrapper towards you). Using a large spoon, put eggroll filler about an inch into a corner of the wrapper. Fold corner over mixture. Then fold 2 corners into center and start rolling. MAKE SURE YOU ARE ROLLING TIGHTLY BUT NOT RIPPING THE WRAPPER. Roll until there is about an inch left. Using your finger or a brush, place some sealer onto this section and roll onto the end. Make sure the end corner is completely sealed.
Continue these steps until your mixture is all gone.
7. Fill the pot with oil and let boil. Make sure you DO NOT fill to the top. Once the oil starts boiling, slowly place eggroll in one at a time to avoid splatter. OUCH!
8. Since there is not meat being used for these, it will be quick. Let the eggroll sit until golden then remove with chop sticks or tongs. They will not be in more than few minutes. continue this process for the rest. Place onto bowl with paper towel.
There are varieties of ingredients and types of eggrolls you can make to your liking.
Experiment & ENJOY!!
Dress for Success
CONFIDENCE. PROFESSIONALISM. STYLE.
You're sitting there (or standing) in the mornings wondering "what am I going to wear to work today?" Myself, I set out my clothes the night before to rid of the hassle in the mornings (I am NOT a morning person). Not saying that I do this every night. Dressing for work obviously depends on where you work or what you do for a living. But in my opinion, when you dress well, you fell good about yourself.
Dressing nice doesn't have to break the bank! I am the queen of finding amazing deals and people will never know how much things are if you know how to put pieces together. I get my tips and advice from various magazines, websites and PINTEREST. Oh Pinterest, how addicting you are.
The key is dressing for yourself, what do you feel the best in? Nothing is worse than putting on a garment and you just feel miserable or tugging at it all day.
If you work in an office setting, put away those plain black suit pieces and plain colored button up shirts and pick up some colors and start diversifying your closet!
Here are some of my favorite picks for work attire. Check out my Pinterest page for more looks!
You may be sitting there thinking "wow those are pretty flowers" wait a minute, if you look a little closer ... they are CUPCAKES!!!
The creator of the awesome desserts above (and much much more, which would not all fit on this blog) is miss Lauren. This mother and friend of mine enjoys baking, creating masterpieces and always wanting to try new things. So how did this start you ask?
Lauren started because her mother loved the cookies by Cookies by Design and she wanted to make them for her mother for Mother's Day about 4 years ago. But she didn't have enough money. So what was she to do? She made some for her mother that year and ever since, people have noticed her work and that's where it all started...
She watches online tutorials and have taken classes for cupcakes, truffles, gourmet caramel apples, cookies, etc. Passion & the looks on her customer's face is what keeps her going!
If you need some yummy creations, contact Lauren through Facebook.
We all have that one passion, that one thing we devote the minuscule "free" time we have, that little niche. So what's yours?
“Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day.
It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.”
Sitting at my brother's house a few years back with itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose with a sitting on the ground looking at me. I was so allergic of cats and to be honest, did not like them very much & was even scared of them. And yes, these little fur babies knew that! I spent all weekend running away from her, trying to scoot it away. I asked my brother "Why do you have them?! Ahh soo annoying". He laughs and tells me that they're his little buddies.
I moved into my own place about 3 years back. Went to work, came home and it just seemed empty and lonely (even though I had my boyfriend). I kept throwing out the idea of getting a pet, but what pet? I wasn't home enough for a dog and I didn't want anything else. Then boom CAT, yes I will get a cat! My boyfriend said to me, "umm arent you allergic and don't like them?" On new years day, 2013 I received a call from him telling me that a coworker had some kittens that needed homes...As I was standing there in an apartment with about 5 kittens. I looked around at these adorable little furry babies, playing, running around. My heart sank. I fell in love. He chose me, I picked him up and he "sighed" ahhh. On the way home we go.
I have always liked animals in the past but until I had one, a pet's love is unexplainable. They wait for you at the door/window when you get home, they're the best snugglers (at times lol). Every where I go, there's a piece of him with me, literally, his hair is all over my stuff! I look forward to seeing mister Dolce every time I get home. They are little stress relievers, just a few moments and POOF! All better.
If you didn't know until now, the name Do'Lache Space was inspired by my cat :)
Now go and give your fur babies a big hug & kiss.
The time is approaching where I need to start looking for my wedding dress. Most or all females have this "perfect" dress we have in mind. We scroll through websites and bridal magazines obsessing and drooling over designers, shapes, color, oh my! So what happens when you have an exact idea of what type of dress you want and it doesn't turn out the way you wanted it too?
For me, that is when panic sets in. But isn't that the whole purpose of browsing, taking time trying on these beautiful gowns, frolicking around in the store, sipping on champagne, spending time with your mothers or friends? NEVER SETTLE FOR WHAT YOU THINK IS "ALRIGHT, OKAY". This is your wedding day, you have every right to be picky, to be a little "bridezilla" like and take your time...unless you wait until last minute, then you better not be indecisive!! :)
"Motherhood is a great honor and privilege, yet it is also synonymous with servanthood. Every day women are called upon to selflessly meet the needs of their families. Whether they are awake at night nursing a baby, spending their time and money on less-than-grateful teenagers, or preparing meals, moms continuously put others before themselves."
Today we all take some time to celebrate the woman in our lives, whether it's moms, grandmother, sister, wife, guardian, etc. We see a lot of "thank you" "I appreciate you" which is wonderful but every day these women sacrifice everything to be a mother...we have to take some time throughout the year, not just on Mothers Day to say how much we love what they have done for us. I will be the first to admit that I myself do not do this.
As my mother always say to me in my 27 years of life "you will never know how much you love a child, how much you will do for them, why I am so hard on you, until you have one of your own.
So not just today but tomorrow or the next or the day after that, just make it known that you will always be your mother's baby no matter how old you get.
Myself & my fiancé had made it a point to travel as much as possible; whether it is out of the country or within the states. Budgeting & smart planning can make this happen guys. Being the huge planner that I am, it starts with a few simple steps...
The first step is simple, where do you want to go?
Secondly, what is your budget? Do have the extra funding? Write this all down.
Third, is it a group trip or is it just you?
Fourth, RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH----don't settle on the first pricing you find. Trust me, there are plenty of deals out there, you just have to find it!
Fifth, take some time off duh!!
Then pack those bags & camera and start exploring. Stepping out of that comfort zone may help a little also.
Here are some of my favorite vacation moments...you'll see a pattern from the locations I have been too :)
