To attend one or all of the "Big 4" fashion weeks is a bit of a dream for all or most fashion bloggers. Paris, Milan, London & New York. The most accessible at this point for this gal is the Big Apple. This was the 3rd season I've gotten a chance to attend but not a single season will be the same as the following. The beauty of evolving fashion and creative minds are great shows to watch and street fashions to soak in [a little tid bit, being a bystander outside of the shows are just as fun]. The "oooss and ahhhss" as the chicest and fashionable human being strut their stuff on the runway as well the streets. Leaving NYC after fashion week always gave me a boost of experimentation with my clothing options [and a dent in my wallet].
This season the shows attended we're on all spectrums of fashion.
Let's do a little recap on some of the shows at NYFW.
Unique, powerful, diverse are 3 words I'd use to describe this seasons Gypsy Sport FW17 collection. We were greeting with a powerful message from Rio Uribe and acoustic drum beats that sent chills through the room. The pieces in this collection were colorful, unique that takes a strong individual to wear [my belief].
Welcome to the future, ladies and gents. Namilia had pieces that were literally out of this world, the first thought that came to mind when I saw the flaming silver puffer jacket was "wow that'd be pretty cool to wear in like space". The designers captured the essence is sex appeal with distinguish.
Can I have everything from this line? Bravo Katty Xiomara, I loved everything down to every piece. All the way from Portugal, this collection brought modern, everyday wearable pieces with a bit of feminism quality. Did I mention wanted it all?
Elegance and beauty, wow this Zang Toi collection was special. I'm glad this was the last show I saw before leaving NYFW. Imagine housewife with all the glitz, glamour and sophistication times 10. Royal blues, whites & gowns galore. I fell in love with the image of the powerful woman he created with this collection.
I highly suggest you check out each of these designers, as there's a bit of something for everyone here. If you attended NYFW, what were some of your favorite collections?
For now, stay tune for the second NYFW post coming soon.
With love & NYFW,
The weather is gloomy, the layers are packed on & we’re all in desperate need of bright colors and sunshine in our lives [those of us not living in all year sunshine]. Year round I tend to wear a lot of dark colors but always try to find accessories to make my look POP! One of my favorite accessories of all time are watches. I’ve been told if you can own any type of jewelry, make sure to invest in a good watch. Directly quoting Wood Watches by JORD, “The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.”
I’ve teamed up with Wood Watches by JORD to give you all a chance to win $100 towards one of their beautiful wood timepieces. The watch I’m sporting [found here] is the Frankie in Dark Sandalwood & Mint! And guess what? You get $25 code just for entering!
You’re may be thinking, “but how can I wear brown with everything I own?” the answer is you can. Throw those mythical thoughts out the window about how you can’t wear brown and black together. The brown accent makes your look pop even more. I’ve paired the Frankie with an all-black trench ensemble and an all-white casual look to show you how it can be worn with different types of looks.
Next time you’re looking into investing a unique & timeless piece, head over to Wood Watches by JORD and have a looksee.
Now tell me which one are your favorites, drop it in the comments or email :)
With love & JORD,
