On our latest adventure, we ventured to Mexico! You see that title up there? Literally those exact words came out of my mouth. All you Bachelor/Bachelorette viewers out there know exactlyyy what I am talking about! Fast forward my mumble jumble and hellloooo beautiful Isla Mujeres. I'm just going to leave this photo below as a pause ...
I would recommend Traffic Tours 1000% if you are ever wanting to do a catamaran adventure in Mexico! We stayed at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa in Riviera Maya - you can purchase the tours there. Awesome food and drink service, paddle boating, snorkeling and island tours, ahh yes! I couldn't have asked for a better experience with some of the nicest and attentive crew.
I wanted to pass along some tips:
Leave it below if you've ever been or have any questions! We are definitely planning on going back to do some more adventures - see the ruins and cenotes! Let me know if you recommend any specific places or companies to go through!
"Maybe this day is not one of your favorites, but never forget that every day you wake up is an amazing gift & it's up to you to make it count"
The sun is rising quicker in the mornings, the days are getting longer. I keep telling myself that Mondays are a new start. I used to dread Mondays and morning in general but why be negative about it when it's the beginning to a fresh week. Fresh start to your personal and professional life, setting short term doable goals to achieve! Before I continue, I gotta remember to do what I am preaching.
It does not have to be Mondays that you are starting fresh, designate whichever day seems fitting for you and what works with your schedule. Let's say you want to start working out for 15-20 minutes in the morning or complete errands for the day, how are you going to make it happen? I've said I wanted to do things numerous time and do I do them? No, not all the time. Easier said than done I know.
Spring is almost here, do you know what that means? Two things: temps are slowly rising in the Midwest and winter favorites are on sale! It is okay to be buying swimsuits and winter pieces at the same time, totally acceptable. Now is the time I stock up on coats & sweaters that are always "on trend", in other words, staple pieces that you can always count on wearing for the next few winter seasons.
I found this Topshop coat for $90 and obsessed with it. You can never go wrong with plaid.
Shop this one here.
Here are my favorites that are on sale - snag them before they're gone!
Over the knee boots
With love & winter sale,
Virtually raise your hand if you are a petite one like I am. Standing "tall" over here at 5'0. I enjoy embracing my petiteness and prefer flats over heels if I can get away with wearing it everywhere. I love heels and platforms as much as the next person but preferred choice of footwear... I LOVE my flats, sneakers, everything non heel. What is there to not like? My current obsession are oxfords. They're comfortable, yet can be stylish. You can opt in for the classic or venture with the many choices there are now. I've been "adding to cart" all week after I've seen these! Just as always, these are under $100.
It was really hard to not "add to cart" again while writing this blog. Dear husband of mine, please do not mind any mysterious boxes that show up to the house.
These below are my all time favorite pair of oxfords since they're a neutral color and I've overworn these with many outfits. AND cannot wait to tell you how much I scored these for .... $9 dollars. Yes, you read that right. I snagged these at Carson's last season during a clearance sale. Wish I can link these exact ones for you but see the similars below the picture!
With love & Oxfords,
It wasn't until recently that I started to love handbags as much as I loved shoes [which still holds a very special part in my heart]. I am talking cool, new novelty bags, fun shapes and sizes, and colors this spring season. Sure we would all love a Chanel or Celine bag, I mean who wouldn't? Have a little fun this upcoming spring and even summer season with these hot trends. Let's keep it in the reasonable realm, all under $100!
Trying to fit a charger, makeup bag, planner in your purse? Direct your attention away from this section. But want to put some extra into your look? Keep reading. Not really useful but they are super cute! This is my favorite handbag trend at the moment. I mean what else do you really need for a night out.
Circle is a shape. And a trending handbag shape. I adore these, need I say more?
You can catch me with a bag that is cat shaped. If you find one, let me know. Yessss, this is where fun steps in. Have fun and express your personality or just add some excitement to your look with novelty bags. These are a few of my personal favorites.
Remember when I said that mini handbags are currently my fav? Snagged this one at Target for $20 ... yea $20. Loveeee the simplicity of the bag and that green that adds a little pop to my outfits. Find it here.

With love & handbags,
Hello! It's been awhile folks. I wanted to give you a head's up and say that this post is different from the ones I've done before. This isn't fashion related and there are no images to view here, nothing in the usual Do'Lache Space realm. I wanted to take the time (if you'd like to spend a bit of time reading) let you into my thoughts and let you know why I've stepped back a bit in the last few months. I feel like others can agree to this as well or hope you can get some useful insight after reading this.
I've tried to take a step back from social, blogging and everything in relation in general before but it wasn't until these last 2 months that I truly did. I needed a reality check, needed to figure out WHY I started this blog in the first place.
We are all swept into this world of Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat posts that makes other people's lives look fabulous - but do we REALLY know what is behind those images? Reality vs. Social - it's a thing and I was glad to see a lot of the influencers I've looked up to post about this as well.
Taking a step forward, why am I back? I feel as I am finally getting back to the beginning again, finding me per se and why I want to continue as well as have a fresh start.
If you took the time to read this to the end, THANK YOU.
If you've followed me along this entire journey so far, I appreciate every one of you. If you are new, thank you as well for taking your time to read this and hope to have to follow along.
If I can leave a little insight for those who want to or are new to this blogging thing - do not lose yourself, stick to you and your beliefs. Be your bad ass self.
I'd love to hear from you and your thoughts, drop it below or email me.
With love & much needed break,
If you're reading this from a region that doesn't require any coats or cold weather accessories, I envy you [currently imagining myself on the beach with a cocktail in hand]. The start of winter means, it is time to stock up on this winter wardrobe staple item! I mean, it IS the first thing that is seen when you're strutting or leisurely wearing over a comfy pair of sweats. Yes I take pride in doing that from time to time. If you read up on my last post, you'd know that I'm trying to step up my outerwear game. "Trying" But the coat trends this season are 99.8% changing my mind about adding more pieces to my closet! Here are some of my favorites right now and get this, they're all under $100. Double win!
trend: Faux Fur
I'd be lying if I wasn't on anther tab "adding to cart" but come on, needing these in various colors and styles. And yes, aimed to stay under $100 - stylish yet not breaking any budgets!
This one here, is one of my favorites of all time.
What's your favorite go to winter coat? Drop it below, I'd love to know!
With love & winter,
Raise your hand if you've ever heard of Galena, IL? I'll just imagine that you did not. Galena's historic downtown area is about 3 hour West of Chicago. Small but the downtown area is filled with so many shops, most or all original and unique! They call this the "Helluva Half Mile". When life is constantly busy and you're running a hundred miles a minute, it's nice to do a little escape for the day. Me personally, no I would not ever be able to live in such a small town. Hello suburban girl! Luckily we got to enjoy a little brisk sunshine before the snow kicked in. Buttttt it is probably so beaut when there is snow on the ground! Need a little break? Throw on some sneaks (stylish or comfy of course) and your best and warm attire to discover meow.
Fun non Do'Lache Space-esk fact: The Ulysses S. Grant Home is in Galena, Illinois
3 things you have to do when in every place you visit: Eat, Shop & Laugh
many many Gift Shops
It's December in the Midwest, 4 things come to my mind: The beginning of frigid temps, possible adventuring to do outside activities or staying warm inside all day/night. If you're like me, then from the months of December to March you have a heck of a time finding cute outerwear. And you just want to live in sweats and athletic wear all day. Okay maybe that one is just me. This season, I've vowed to make an extra effort to explore my cold weather pieces and pieces and say no to frump - even on those "don't want to get dressed" days [air fist bumping in my head right now]. To be honest, I tend to not venture and buy new pieces during the winter months for the sole reason of rehearing my same few go to pieces. I also spend most of the winter weekends bumming out at home or not really getting dressed when I DO leave the house.
Hello, hi Avalanche! I was introduced to this brand last month - guilty of being a consistent customer of another huge outdoor wear company [no names named and shhhhh pricing is awesome sauce]. There were 2 things that drew me in on one particular item they had [the Slalom Pullover]: thumbholes & supperrrrr comfortable interior! Ever since I got this, literally have worn it 2 or 3 times a week when I'm lounging at home after work or on the weekends. Oh did I say thumbholes? Weird how I get excited about little things like that. But yes - gimme gimme! Some of my other favorites are the Celsius Insulated Long Coat and the Juliette Insulated Jacket. [if you haven't already, click and check em out].
So goodbye to frump frump - I'll just live in this piece all winter in and out of the house!
Want to see more pieces? Head here!
With love & outwear,
*Received this pullover comp from Avalanche & Lipton Publicity - all opinions are my own
Every season, I tend to have an obsession over a single piece of clothing...then buy in every color. Obviously. This fall it's corduroy skirts! Play with your hemline this season. Yassssss - I am loving this trend right now. It's a piece where you can dress up or down, day or night. Don't need to cover those legs up this fall, I like pairing mine with a pair of tights or thigh high boots. I mean, I DO live in the Midwest - it's a tad chilly during these months.
For this look, I played a little mix and match with patterns and ensemble pieces. And this burgundy color is totally in this Fall. Already planning my next corduroy haul (insert running emoji here).
Fun little fact: these tights & booties are some of my all time fav pieces.
